Resilia ~ Other NeurotherapiesAlpha-Stim® What is Alpha-Stim® The Alpha-Stim® 100 treats anxiety, depression, and/or insomnia with microcurrent using a method called cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES). The treatment is very simple. The current is applied by easy to use clip electrodes that attach on the ear lobes. Used just 20 to 40 minutes every day, every other day, or on an as-needed basis, it can help induce a pleasant, relaxed feeling of well being. The Alpha-Stim® 100 is well tolerated and very safe in contrast to drugs used in the treatment of mood disorders, many of which have been proven to have undesirable side effects and can be addictive. Unlike drugs, the Alpha-Stim® 100 leaves the mind alert. Anxiety reduction is usually experienced during treatment. Depression and insomnia control is generally experienced after one to two weeks of daily treatment. CES can also help treat the underlying mood disorders associated with pain. It may be used as an adjunct to medication and/or psychotherapy. After treatment, there are usually no physical limitations imposed so the majority of people can resume normal activities immediately. Maintenance of a relaxed, yet alert state is generally achieved with treatments three times per week. As a result, the Alpha-Stim® 100 is suitable for clinical or home use. Because the Alpha-Stim® 100 is a FDA II classified instrument and it is not suited for everyone, we require a thorough assessment prior to recommending the treatment. We then work directly with your doctor to obtain a prescription for the treatment. Brain Entrainment Brainwave entrainment or "brainwave synchronization", is any practice that aims to cause brainwave frequencies to fall into step with a periodic stimulus having a frequency corresponding to the intended brain-state (for example, to induce sleep), usually attempted with the use of specialized software. It purportedly depends upon a "frequency following" response on the assumption that the human brain has a tendency to change its dominant EEG frequency towards the frequency of a dominant external stimulus. Such a stimulus is often aural, as in the case of binaural or monaural beats and isochronic tones, or else visual, as with a dreamachine, or a combination of the two with a mind machine. BAUD The Bio-Acoustical Utilization Device (BAUD) is a device that creates sonic waves that coincide with brain frequencies measured by an electroencephalogram (EEG). By integrating the BAUD as a stimulant with other therapies, such as neurotherapy or music therapy, the individual can better grasp the significance of regulating their brain waves as well as other psychophysiological dimensions, such as relaxation and indices of mood. The Music frequencies can increase or decrease a person?s mood levels; drum rhythms also have been documented as having an affect. All of the body can be influenced by external frequencies, such as the frequency waves measured by the electrocardiogram (EKG) or sonogram energy waves for the heart, electromyogram and the (EMG) energetic waves from the surface muscles.One of the advantages of the BAUD is that it has gradients of frequencies and differential stimulation between two speakers that resonate for great impact, giving the individual greater control for enhanced learning self-regulation. As an enhancement stimulus for biofeedback, the individual can see and appreciate how he or she can regulate these tracings with frequency changes in the BAUD.
